While I rarely share personal work on my business page, I’ve always felt that shooting purely for the pleasure of photography itself is really fulfilling. Shooting weddings is a lot of fun but sometimes, I like to revisit the times I used to take photos just for the thrill of it. I feel that it keeps me grounded and also allows me to try more creative techniques and angles. That said, I’d been waiting to shoot some pictures of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Temple in Toronto for a while now and when I finally got my chance, I jumped onto the opportunity. If you didn’t already know, this entire structure was built entirely out of limestone and marble – without any inner structural reinforcement. That’s crazy! Also the second largest Hindu temple outside of India. It’s definitely one of my top 10 places to visit in Toronto. All in all, just a beautiful, almost epic, structure and I’m glad it’s right here in Toronto. Hope you enjoy these images! Based on the feedback I receive, I’ll continue posting more personal work from time to time so please let me know your thoughts!

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to announce that I will be out of the office starting June 2nd until June 9th. Me and Iman decided to go on a personal trip to Puerto Plata, the Dominican Republic for some much-needed r&r. I will not have access to email, facebook or my phone and therefore will not be able to reply to any new inquiries, messages or phone calls. More posts when I get back!

Note: I DID NOT take the above photo. I AM taking a ton of gear with me to capture the beautiful scenery and greenery however and will definitely share them when I get back. Also taking my GoPro HD waterproof camera with me – hope to get back with some decent underwater footage!

Cheers!

SNOW.

February 2, 2011

With all the talk of the massive snowstorm that Toronto was supposed to experience today, I just had to go out there and see for myself what the fuss was all about. I’m not a big fan of snow (especially since I was born and raised in the Middle East) so for me, this was a massive undertaking. I even left my trusty 5d2+35L  combo (best lens ever!) home and took my 30D and 85 1.8 out with me instead to snap a couple of shots of the weather. Well, that was the plan anyway haha. As you all know by now, the snowstorm was an epic fail so I ended up snapping photos of random trees along with a few photos of my partner in crime instead. Iman’s a major part of me and my photography (she’s my personal planner+stray hair fixer+uber awesome light holder+cheer-me-upper all in one!) and I love having a model ready to go whenever I feel like shooting!

Anyways, enough of my blabbing – there’s a major reason I’m not a writer and am a photographer instead. Let the images speak! Check them out bee-low. But first, some coconut cream pie – because that’s how I roll.
